Laser Pros jumped out to a 5-0 lead after three innings and led 8-1 before Tomahawk rallied for three runs in the top of the seventh inning.
Jesse Mahner, Jordan Kuczmarski and Devyn Orth all reached and scored for Laser Pros in the second. Mahner singled, Kuczmarski walked and Orth singled to give Laser Pros three base runners before the first out was recorded.
Laser Pros also got its first two batters aboard in the third as Tim Fox led off with a single and Isaac Bixby walked. They later scored on a single by Mahner and a groundout by Kuczmarski.
Logan Schmoeger singled and scored in the fourth and the Laser Pros tacked on two more in the sixth as Ben Sinclair tripled and scored on a Schmoeger groundout. Kaden Chillemi later walked and scored on a grounder by Bixby.
Laser Pros collected eight hits overall in the contest. Mahner had two hits in the game, Ian Miller had a double in the first inning and Riley Lepak added a base hit in the fourth.
Fox picked up the win for Laser Pros, allowing an unearned run on one hit over five inning with no walks and five strikeouts. Orth pitched the final two innings for Rhinelander and allowed three runs on three hits with a strikeout.
Prep League: Eagle River holds off Rhinelander Black
In a game where both teams struggled to drive in runs, Eagle River did it slightly better than Rhinelander Black Wednesday night, and earned a 4-1 win at Stafford Field.
The teams combined to strand 25 base runners in the contest. Eagle River left 13 on base but jumped out to an early lead and held on behind a complete game pitching effort by Nels Evensen.
The Hodags weren't able to do much better, leaving 12 men on base. The Black team was unable to get any runs across in the fourth after loading the bases with nobody out.
Rhinelander's lone run came in the bottom of the seventh as Kyrle Vanney reached on a error and scored on a Caleb Plaumann groundout. The Hodags managed only four hits, including two by Will Gretzinger. Mason Baker and Oscar Hanson recorded hits to help load the bases in the fourth.
The Black team used five different pitchers in the contest. Hanson and Gretzinger each struck out four and pitched two innings of scoreless relief. Baker started and took the loss for Rhinelander Black, allowing a run on two hits in the first inning. Alex Rappley and Cody Everson also spend time on the mound.
Eagle River scored twice off Rappley in the second inning, and got a run off Everson in the sixth. Hodag pitchers combined to allow only six hits, but issued nine walks.
The loss dropped Rhinelander Black to 1-2 overall.
Other action
Both of Rhinelander's Green teams were in action on the road Thursday. In the Prep League, Rhinelander Green dropped to 3-2 on the season with a 10-0 loss at Three Lakes. In the Senior League, Rhinelander Green got back to .500 at 2-2 on the season with an 8-0 win at Crandon.

All four Rhinelander Babe Ruth teams return to action early next week. On Monday night, it's a Prep-Senior League doubleheader in Tomahawk as Rhinelander Black takes on Tomahawk followed by Rhinelander Green and Tomahawk Blue at Kahle Field. Another Prep-Senior League twinbill will take place Tuesday at Stafford Field as Rhinelander Green hosts Eagle River in the Prep League game at 5 p.m., followed by Crandon and Laser Pros in Senior League play at 7:15.
