Glen attended schools in Rhinelander graduating from Rhinelander High School in 1946. Following his graduation he enlisted in the United States Army. After initial training at bases in the U.S., he served stateside in clerical positions. Upon his honorable discharge on Jan. 9, 1948, Glen traveled extensively. He eventually ended up residing in the twin cities of Minneapolis-St. Paul where he was employed by Pillsbury. Glen took early retirement from Pillsbury so that he could return to Rhinelander and care for his ailing parents. This enabled them to remain in their home until each passed away.
After the passing of his parents Glen resumed his travels with trips to Arizona and England. He took interest in all affairs of the world and was not afraid to share his opinions, often times in letters to the editor. He wrote articles on the United States Constitution, some of which were published in the New York Times. Many would remember Glen by his daily walk to downtown to get the paper(s).
