Woodland Strings to perform in Three Lakes July 23
"The Woodland Strings have been making music together for more than 20 years," Three Lakes concert series organizers said in a press release. "What began as a string quartet has now grown into a small orchestra complete with violins, violas, cello and bass. They have been seen regularly at a variety of venues around the Northwoods, both summer and winter. It is a unique group, blending a variety of musical genres and styles. Their diverse repertoire includes timeless classics, Broadway and movie hits, mariachi, tangos, Celtic jigs, contemporary, pop, and new music - a perfect accompaniment for a summer's evening with friends. Woodland Strings' goal is to perform often and delight audiences with songs that recall wonderful memories while creating new experiences."
Free concerts are held at the gazebo in Cy Williams Park each Tuesday evening through Aug. 6 with different Northwoods groups featured each week. Attendees are invited to pack a picnic and a blanket or chair; popcorn, soda, water and cider will be for sale. All proceeds benefit the Three Lakes Historical Society and Museum.
Concerts are held rain or shine. The rain location is the Three Lakes High School auditorium. For more information, call 715.546.2295 or visit www.facebook.com/ThreeLakesHistory.
