Mary Ann was born on Friday, Feb. 2, 1934 in Rhinelander, the daughter of John and Edna (Wyss) Fleury. She was a graduate of St. Mary's Catholic Grade School, and Holy Family Academy in Manitowoc. She then attended Silver Lake College in Manitowoc and in 1965 graduated from Immaculate Heart in Los Angeles. Mary Ann was an Elementary School Teacher. She taught music, organ and piano at Antigo, Santa Barbara, Rice Lake, Green Bay and Neenah. She had been a Church Musician, Liturgist and Eucharistic Minister and a Caregiver for 10 years.
She is survived by a sister-in-law; Carol Fleury and by nieces, nephews, and numerous cousins and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; John and Edna Fleury, brothers; James, Raymond (Muriel), Richard and John Fleury and by one niece; Amy Savage and a nephew; Adam Fleury.
Mary Ann loved to sing, play piano, knit, read, do puzzles, walk and listen to classical music. She loved animals, especially cats. She will be remembered for her devotion as a parishioner and volunteer at Nativity of Our Lord Parish. The visitation for Mary Ann will take place on Monday, July 8, 2019 at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Parish located at 125 E. King Street, Rhinelander from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Fr. Mike Tupa will be officiating the Mass. Immediately following the mass, there will be a procession to Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Cemetery for the Committal Service.
