Northland Pines student to perform with Kids from Wisconsin in Eagle River
The Eagle River performance will be at 7 p.m., with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are on sale at the Northland Pines Middle & High School Office and at Eagle River Roasters.
All tickets are general admission and are $10 each, organizers said in a press release.
A special addition to the group this year is Northland Pines senior Dane Gleason. Gleason auditioned and was accepted to the group as their principal bass player for the summer. At Northland Pines, Gleason is involved in the fine arts such as a jazz ensemble, jazz combos, honor bands, and multiple stage productions, both as a musician and as a performer. He has been playing bass guitar among other instruments, including piano and guitar, for just under seven years. Additionally, he has been gigging professionally as a leader and as a sideman across northern Wisconsin since the age of 12. The Kids from Wisconsin performance on July 9 will serve as Gleason's hometown show.
The performance at Northland Pines is made possible by generous financial donations by the Eagle River Elementary School PTO, Northland Pines Middle School PTSO, Northland Pines Music Boosters, St. Germain Lions Club, St. Germain UCC Thrift Shop, Eagle River Lions Club, People's State Bank, and Associated Bank.
The 51st season of Kids from Wisconsin will feature music and artists that have stood the test of time. Living legends such as Billy Joel, Tina Turner and Cher, just to name a few, along with music that is both traditional, award winning and notorious, such as Queen and Gershwin, will get audiences on their feet.
The iconic sound of the Kids From Wisconsin Band wows crowds with some winning tunes from all-time rockers such as the Doobie Brothers, Festival Di Ritmo, some favorite SuperHeroes and more. These band features will get toes tapping to some of rock's greatest guitar riffs and percussive Latin beats. It will also bring to life some of the best known, beat filled Broadway tunes.
