Johnny truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; chatting with friends and family and a good cup of coffee. Today's actively engaged lives do not always allow for the time we should dedicate to family but his family was always on his mind and in his heart. He never let his physical limitations stop him from accomplishing a goal he set for himself. He had many careers and always accepted each new adventure to the best of his ability. He collected many things and in his words "It's not hoarding if it's cool stuff!" Over the years he enjoyed stock car racing, hunting, fishing and kayaking but his greatest love was boating and his special solo trips with his boat buddy, Jackson.
John is survived by his wife Jacqueline, his daughter Nicole Dorion, his son Jesse Dorion, his grandchildren Sapphire and Tyr, his three sisters Christine (Martin) Gerdes, Tammie Dorion and Dawn (Mark) Harvey, nieces, nephews, other family and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Marjorie Pemper.
A memorial service for John will be held Saturday, Jan. 26, 2019 at 11 a.m., with visiting hours from 9 to 11 a.m., all at the Carlson Funeral Home. Chaplain John Uhlarik will officiate.
