Associated Bank recently donated $4,000 to the Oneida County Economic Development Corporation to support entrepreneurial development in the region.

"Associated Bank has a long-standing commitment to advancing entrepreneurship and economic development in the communities we serve," Associated Bank Vice President and Commercial Banker Brad Kowieski said in a press release announcing the donation.

"The Oneida County Economic Development Corporation shares that deep commitment and we are happy to financially support the corporation's efforts to advance economic vitality in the Northwoods."

Stacey Johnson, executive director of the Oneida County Economic Development Corporation, accepted the check on behalf of OCEDC.

"New business development plays an important role in growing our regional economy," Johnson said. "This generous donation from Associated Bank will allow us to further our effort to provide entrepreneurs with the tools, resources and support to be successful."

The corporation plans to partner with Nicolet College and use the money to provide training for new entrepreneurs as well as current business owners looking to take their ventures to the next level, the release states.

"There are many different aspects to successfully launching and then running a business," said Sandy Bishop, executive director for Economic and Community Development at Nicolet.

"For more than a decade we've been helping entrepreneurs put all of the pieces together with a variety of training and support services. This includes how to create the all-important business plan, analyzing the market and the competition, securing funding, marketing, business law and numerous other elements necessary to be successful."
