Middle school ski team competes in Hodag Challenge
Jett Biolo led the Hodag contingent in the boys' seventh- and eighth-grade class. His combined time in the two, 3.3-kilometer skate races over the weekend was 21 minutes, 19.7 seconds as he placed sixth overall. Travis White was 15th (24:58.6), Mason Shinners finished 16th (25:19.1), Ryan Morien was 17th (25:32.4) and Charlie Loomis finished 30th (29.26.7).
Gracie Berger finished just outside the top 10 overall in the seventh- and eighth-grade girls' race with an overall time of 27:00.9. She was ninth fastest in Sunday's second leg of the event. Nora Rutkowski finished 13th (27:58.3), Juliana Smith was 16th (28:27.4), Aubrey Younker finished 18th (28:45.3) and Olivia Gillen was 19th (29:04.4).
Iain Rumney (29:03.3) and Olin Slette (30:53.3) were sixth and seventh, respectively, in the boys' fifth- and sixth-grade class. Macy Lester (25:30.6) was the runner up in the girls' fifth- and sixth-grade classs.
Brynn Teter was fourth (25:40.6) and Violet Biolo finished eighth (32:04.6).
