YMCA accepting nominations for teen character awards
The 17th Annual YMCA Teen Character Awards wil be presented by Rhinelander Rotary Monday, April 8.
"The Y Teen Character Awards recognize teens that demonstrate the Y's core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility," organizers said in a press release.
"The awards are an important way to recognize teens that have made positive changes in their lives and in our community. Teens that win an award are able to put their award on college and employment applications."
Any adult can nominate teens they feel deserve recognition by filling out the nomination form and turning it in to the YMCA of the Northwoods before Friday, March 8, 2019. All individuals who will receive an award will be contacted by March 20, 2019. Nomination forms can be filled out on the Y website www.ymcaofthenorthwoods.com or can be picked up at the YMCA. We are also still accepting sponsors for the awards.

The Forest County Potawatomi are also set to sponsor the YMCA Teen Character Awards as a major sponsor in 2019.
Part of what make this night so special is the event's ability to unite the entire Northwoods bringing teens from five different counties: Forest, Langlade, Lincoln, Oneida, and Vilas, the release states.
