Charter NEX celebrates year of safety
The Rhinelander Charter NEX Films plant went the entire calendar year of 2018 injury free. In January, the plant celebrated across all shifts with a winter ribeye grill out courtesy of grill masters Bob Scarcelli (Corporate EHS Director) and Jeremy VanCamp (Plant Manager). According to a company press release, the plant has now gone over 600 days without an injury, breaking the corporate record every day.

"It's about the people on the floor and their commitment to safety," plant safety coordinator Ted Towle said. "That's why we're doing so well. It's about the culture on the floor and what gets us from one day to the next."

The plant's highly engaged workforce has been very accepting of a program to help with peer-to-peer accountability and also submits a large number of safety suggestions which reduces physical hazards, the release notes.
