The Rhinelander High School Dance team competed at the WACPC State Dance Championships in La Crosse Saturday, Feb. 2, in Division 2 Hip Hop placing 10th out of 12 teams, only four points away from seventh place.

"No one is born a Warrior, Warriors are made through the trials they overcome" was a theme incorporated into their Hip Hop routine this year. Awareness ribbons are turned in the routine as dancers overcome things such as bullying and verbal abuse.

"The coaches are very proud of the team's performance at state," the team stated in a press release.

The team posed for a picture after the meet. In the front row, from left to right are Ambre Philippot, Makayla Koser, Tina Kansariwala and Beth Theilman. In the middle row are Amaya Adler, Lexi Heise, Haylee Fernandes, Alexis Alderton and Abbi Koch in the back row are assistant coach Angela Towne, head coach Saydee Terzinski, Haylee Campbell, Houston Mathwig, Jenna Wallmow, assistant coach Tricia Winter and assistant coach Kari Britton.
