Swim club members compete at single-age state meet
To qualify for the meet, swimmers had achieve pre-specified cut times in specific events and swimmers were guaranteed a minimum of three events in the competition.
The swimmers competed under the Northern Lakes Aquatic Club banner and were joined by a couple of other Northwoods area swimmers to compete in a couple of relay races.
Results for the group were as follows:
Charlie Antonuk, 10 - 14th, 50-yard breaststroke (43.74 seconds); 17th, 100 freestyle (1:13.49); 20th, 50 butterfly (38.29); 22nd, 50 freestyle (33.09).
Brock Arrowood, 12 - 27th, 100 individual medley (1:20.48); 29th, 100 butterfly (1:21.07); 31st, 50 backstroke (33.75).
Shawn Denis, 12 - 29th, 100 backstroke (1:17.16); 33rd, 50 breaststroke (39.60); 36th, 50 backstroke (34.61).
Ella Heck, 10 - 11th, 50 breaststroke (39.96); 13th, 100 breaststroke (1:30.14); 15th, 100 individual medley (1:22.25); 34th, 50 butterfly (37.52).
Vivian Lamers, 11 -18th, 50 butterfly (31.88); 21st, 50 breaststroke (37.41), 100 breaststroke (1:23.18); 39th, 50 freestyle (29.49).
Samson Shinners, 12 - 5th, 100 freestyle (56.10); 7th, 50 freestyle (25.99); 11th, 200 individual medley (2:29.26); 12th, 100 breaststroke (1:17.61); 16th, 100 individual medley (1:10.06); 25th, 100 butterfly (1:12.06).
Ellyse Younker, 12 - 39th, 100 backstroke (1:13.39); 42nd, 50 butterfly (32.75); 50th, 100 freestyle (1:05.70).
Boys' 200 freestyle relay (Antonuk, Arrowood, Denis, Shinners) - 20th (1:57.74)
Boys' 200 medley relay (Antonuk, Denis, Shinners, Bruce Peetz) - 24th (2:20.75)
Girls' 200 medley relay (Heck, Lamers, Younker, Marissa Miles) - 35th (2:19.56)
In addition to the swimmers listed, Dean Gillingham, Judson O'Malley and Luci Henke achieved state-qualifying times during the season, but were unable to attend the meet, according to information provided to the River News.
