Jim was born in Rhinelander on June 30, 1968, to Kenneth and Carolyn (McNown) Cheslock.
He was a 1986 graduate of Rhinelander High School and went on to attend UW Madison where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology. He then continued his studies, receiving his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree in 1994. He met his future wife at school and they made their home in Prairie View, a suburb of Chicago.
Jim was employed for 15 years with Western Currency Exchange and later formed his own lending company.
He enjoyed a life of travel with his family and most of all, he loved his children and found them to be a great source of pride. He watched them participate in many sporting events and taught them all how to downhill ski and skate.
Jim is survived by his mother Carolyn of Rhinelander, son Hunter, and daughters Madison and Ryan of Chicago, two sisters Julie (Mark) Friedman of Green Bay, Jody (Brad) Beloff of Rhinelander and his beloved dog, Murphy. Jim is further survived by his aunts, uncle, cousins and one niece.
He was preceded in death by his father Kenneth "Pooch" Cheslock and his grandparents.
At Jim's request, there will be no service.
