"From Santa, to the Grinch, to the Hodag...all the favorites were there," the release states. "Floats followed this year's theme of 'Sounds of the Holidays' and led the crowd to Stevensport Square. After Santa and Mrs. Claus arrived they, along with Mayor Chris Frederickson, counted down to the lighting of the trees in the square. Carolers sang while children were invited to visit with Santa and have some hot chocolate and cookies."
There were three prizes for floats this year. Peoples State Bank sponsored the Best Depiction of Theme award which went to the Hodag Store for its live Grinch, green lights and Grinch music.
Ripco Credit Union sponsored the Most Holiday Spirit award which was awarded to the Pine Lake Fire Department for its Christmas light- adorned fire truck.
Diel Insurance sponsored the Shining Star float award which went to CoVantage Credit Union for its lights, décor and hot air balloon basket flames!
"This year was one to remember and the Rhinelander Area Chamber of Commerce would like to thank all who participated and came to partake," the release states.
