Vic was born in Laona, on Thursday, Nov. 16, 1939, the son of Edgar M. and Lucy E. (Underwood) Harper. The family moved to Rhinelander where Victor grew up. He attended school in Rhinelander and was a 1959 graduate of Rhinelander High School.
He was united in marriage to Shirley Ann Haff on Sept. 4, 1982 at First United Methodist Church, Rhinelander. They lived in Rhinelander where Vic was employed for 40 years as a carpenter with Barden Builders.
Victor enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, attending Hodag Country Fest and a good Old Fashioned! But most of all, Vic enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He will be dearly missed by his wife, Shirley; four children, Deborah (Mike) Lociero of Milwaukee, Linda (John) Davis of Rhinelander, Wayne Haff of Madison and Barry Haff and fiancé Debbie Harris of Merrill. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He is further survived by three brothers; Robert Harper of Flint, Mich., Samuel Harper of Tripoli, and Dennis (Jean) Harper of Ramsey, Minn., one sister; Rena Seidl of Fond du Lac and by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, one sister, and a daughter-in-law, Sandra Lemmer-Haff.
The visitation for Vic will take place on Sunday, Sept. 1, 2019 at the Hildebrand Funeral Home & Cremation Specialists from noon until the 2 p.m. memorial service. Chaplain John Uhlarik will be officiating.
