Pines Community Wellness Center offers strength training program
The next session will run from Sept. 9 through Nov. 14, organizers said in a press release.
There are openings in the Monday, Wednesday or Friday class meeting at 11 a.m. until noon, with an optional half-hour warmup by working out in the fitness center or walking the track.
The cost of the program is $50 for 2 times a week or $75 for 3 times a week.
"The class was made more enjoyable because of the fun we had as a group. A lot of funny and nice people! Laughter is a great exercise!" commented one of the class members.
Another member indicated that "all the exercises are appropriate and totally beneficial. I have made improvements in balance and core strength. Mentally and socially the program is a gift to me! The program is the complete package!"
The benefits of this strength training class include: reduced risk of chronic diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, osteoporosis, arthritis, heart disease, some cancers, the release states.
Other benefits include increased: strength, muscle mass, bone density and the ability to do activities of dailing living.
