Willi K. Sauer, 89, of Rhinelander, formerly of Germany and Milwaukee, died July 9, 2019. He was born on Sept. 29, 1929 in Ketsch, Germany, to Karl & Frieda Sauer. At the age of 27 he came to the USA where he later married his wife Kathleen on June ll, 1966. They were able to celebrate their 53rd anniversary, even though it was in the hospital. He retired after 26 years from Allen-Bradley/Rockwell in 1991. He enjoyed traveling, skiing and going to Arizona for the winter. His hobbies were going to the casinos and attending German festivities.
He is survived by his wife Kathleen of 53 years, son Eric of New Berlin, sister Rasel (Konig) in Germany, He is also survived by sister-in-laws Flo Zydowicz and Rita Tehan, brothers-in-law Roy Wippert Jr. and Greg Zydowicz, nieces Margitta Konig Brucker of Germany, Rene Tehan, Lisa Wippert, Tina Moreno (Wippert), nephews Juergen Brucker (Konig) of Germany, Kenneth Tehan, Timothy Tehan, Josh Wippert and many cousins and friends both in the U.S and Germany.
A memorial will be held in Milwaukee at some later date.
