Munninghoff Marsh wild ricing demonstration set for Sept. 8
The meeting will take place at the Apperson Drive boat launch in Rhinelander.
"The 2016 conservation easement on the property includes nearly one mile of upland shoreland frontage on the Rhinelander Flowage, and most of the 'Munninghoff Marsh' wetland," NWLT outreach coordinator Troy Walters said in a press release.
Participants will harvest wild rice, which will then be processed to be donated to the Rhinelander Food Pantry. Ricing sticks and push poles will be provided. Participants will need to provide their own canoe, PFD's, water, raingear, water shoes.
Register by calling the Northwoods Land Trust office at 715-479-2490 or email [email protected] by Thursday, Sept 5. Space is limited.
The Northwoods Land Trust is a non-profit organization that works with private landowners who wish to voluntarily conserve their properties. Based in Eagle River, NWLT serves several Northwoods counties.
