Edward "Ed" Chester Stephan, Jr
Ed was born on May 11, 1939, in Racine, the son of Edward C. and Florence (nee Pruess) Stephan Sr.
Ed married Donna J. (nee Duffus) McCaughn on March 17, 1973 at Calvary Lutheran Church in Minocqua.
Ed worked for the Minocqua Police Department for many years and later owned and operated several local businesses in the Lakeland area. Ed was an active and longtime member of the Minocqua Lions Club and on the Calvary Lutheran Church council. Ed was always seen around town walking his beloved dogs and spent early mornings fishing off Bosacki's pier. Ed cherished spending time with his family and especially hunting with kids and enjoyed collecting and trading Savage model 99 rifles.
Ed is survived by his wife, Donna, of Minocqua; children: Mark (Theresa) Stephan of Neenah, Kathi (Joe) Schetter of Sheboygan Falls, Susan (Bruce) Stephan of Three Lakes, Tim (Tammy) Stephan of Oxford; sons-in-law: Tony Studinger of Medford and Bob (Ann) Belmore of Hazelhurst, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his brother Keith Stephan of Racine, his brother-in-law Al Duffus of Minocqua and his favorite furbaby Nikki.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, son Michael, daughters Joni and Sheryl, and by his father-in-law and best friend Al Duffus Sr.
A memorial gathering for Ed will be held on Saturday, Aug. 17 from 10:30 a.m. to noon at Calvary Lutheran Church in Minocqua, with memorial service at noon.
Inurnment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Woodruff.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations to Calvary Lutheran Church.
