Rhinelander students earn first place at Nicolet's high school business competition

Rhinelander High School students Alexis Pyrchalla, Andrea Olds, Emilee Pontell and Payton Johnson displayed their knowledge of business-related subjects and earned top honors at the recent High School Business Jeopardy Competition at Nicolet College.

During the competition students were challenged with questions about business management, accounting, marketing, information technology, and from the administrative professional field, according to a Nicolet press release.

Nearly 200 students from 14 schools competed in 10 different academic disciplines during Competition Day at Nicolet, vying for thousands of dollars in prizes.

Businesses and organizations donating prizes included Sunrise Lodge, Trig's Food and Drug, Café On Main, CT's Deli, Swearingen's Al Gen Supper Club, Baraboo Sysco, Auto Value, Yamaha, O'Riley's Auto Parts, Ace Hardware, Subway, Dominos Pizza, R & R Motorsports, Toy Shop, Parsons, Auto Value, Smith and Company, Hair By Sue, Jon Edwardson, Conway True Value, Crandon Pharmacy, Rosa Trailer, Crandon International Raceway, Smith Concrete, Lake Shore Systems, Airgas, Miller, Airpro Fan, Samuel Pressure Vessel, Wisconsin Public Service, Aspirus MedEvac, and Ascension Wisconsin Spirit Medical Transport Services.
