Gary was born June 12, 1949, in Rhinelander, to Leroy "Lee" and Hazel (Neiber) Cahak.
Gary was a lifelong resident of Rhinelander. He graduated from Rhinelander High School in 1967. After his schooling Gary began working in sales. He sold a number of different items throughout his career and was successful with each of them. Gary had a pleasant demeanor, attention to each detail and a great sense of humor. All of those together made Gary a great salesman. During this time he also operated his own furniture refinishing business on the side.
Gary married Ann Wojcik and together they were blessed with many years together and many common interests. They enjoyed boating, fishing and golfing, and doing so with family and friends. They were also fortunate to travel to destinations in the Caribbean, Alaska and Hawaii. Gary was a longtime member of the Rhinelander Country Club and he enjoyed both the couple's and the men's league each week. Probably the men's league a little more. Gary made the most of his life and truly enjoyed the 15 years of retirement he had. Gary could be a practical joker and family and friends were treated equally when it came to his pranks. He will be missed greatly by his family and friends.
Gary is survived by his wife Ann; his two daughters Jennifer (Trevor Lyman) Seidel and Dannielle (Scott Wiczek) Eggers; his son Christopher (Cathy) Cahak; his grandchildren Amber, Carson and Adilin; his sister Janet (Ray) Woznik; nieces, nephews, other family and many friends.
He was preceded in death by is parents.
A visitation for Gary will be held Tuesday, April 23, 2019 from 9 to 11 a.m. with memorial services following at 11 a.m., all at the Carlson Funeral Home. Deacon Ronald Bosi will be officiating. A memorial is being established in Gary's name and may be directed to his family. You may also leave your private condolences for Gary's family at www.carlsonfh.com.
