Rhinelander youth wrestler Abigale Swanson displays the trophy she won last month at the Wisconsin Wrestling Federation Kids Folkstyle State Championship in Madison during a practice Monday, April 1 at James Willams Middle School.

Swanson was the runner-up in the girls' born 2004-05, 172-pound weight class. She pinned Wausau West's Sage Penny in 41 seconds to reach the championship match, where she lost to Winneconne's Arial Haemmerle by pinfall.

Swanson was one of four state qualfiers from the Rhinelander Wrestling Club, and the club's lone placewinner. Aiden Ostermann, Ashley Schmidt and Mya Swanson also competed at state for the Hodags.
