About 60 people gathered at Holiday Acres in Rhinelander Tuesday for a presentation on sulfide mining hosted by the non-partisan group Protect The Willow. Attendees heard from Tom Jerow, retired DNR Northern Regional Water Leader and member of Wisconsin's Green Fire, and Dave Blouin, State Mining Committee chair for the Sierra Club. The Protect The Willow group opposes mining on county land in the town of Lynne. A full story on the meeting will be published in a future edition.
