At about 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, the Oneida County dispatch received a 9-1-1 call regarding a dump truck that overturned at a house construction site on Sunset Drive in the town of Pelican. According to a member of the Pelican Fire Department, the truck was dumping a load of dirt when it tipped on its side due to loose soil. The truck started leaking diesel fuel. The Oneida County HAZMAT was called out as a precaution, but the leak was quickly stopped before they arrived. The driver of the truck was not injured. (Jamie Taylor/River News)
