The Rhinelander Community Foundation (RCF) has awarded a $25,000 grant to Hodag Little League (HLL) to help fund the construction of a new concession stand building with adjoining restrooms.

The foundation is among other generous donors contributing to this effort, the group said in a press release.

"RCF has awarded several previous grants for improvements within Hodag Park, a treasured community space, to enhance the park's usability within our community," the release states. "Two previous grants have addressed enhancements to Hodag Beach and an additional grant was awarded for future improvements to the park's main restroom facility. The Foundation is pleased to aid Hodag Little League in its infrastructure improvements, as the previous concessions stand, that has been demolished, had fallen into severe disrepair. Adding restrooms enhances safety, as players and supporters will no longer need to cross the busy parking lot to use a restroom. The facility may also be accessible to other community groups in the offseason."

The grant was made possible by a designated donation, the release states.

Rhinelander Community Foundation board member George Juetten shared that he "believes Little League is really important to young kids, as they get their first exposure to competitive sports under the direction of caring, interested parents and other adults. It meant a lot to me when I was that age."

Over the last two years, RCF, a 501(c)3 public charity, has introduced its mission of facilitating charitable giving by awarding grants to charitable organizations and contributing to community impact projects in a positive way. During this time, several funds have been established enabling the Foundation to address future evolving community needs and opportunities, and also allowing donors to connect with causes that are meaningful to them, the release states.

"Because of early support, beginning in 2019 and yearly thereafter, grants for progressive projects and programming will be awarded through a competitive application and review process," the release states. "Through this process, RCF will be able to support ongoing progress in our community into perpetuity."
