Rhinelander's Jack DeNamur, front, and Tristan Fuss lead a pack of runners near the one-mile mark of the junior varsity boys' race at the Hatchet Invitational cross country meet at Edgewater Country Club in Tomahawk Saturday, Oct. 6.

DeNamur and Fuss led the Hodags, placing 21st and 23rd, respectively, as the boys' squad placed fifth in a five-team field.

The Hodag girls placed third out of five teams in the JV division. Megan Brown (12th), Valerie Dalka (18th) and Liana Teter (19th) all scored top-20 finishes for the Hodags.
