"In general, the flu is worse than the common cold, and symptoms are more intense," according to a health department press release. "People with colds are more likely to have a runny or stuffy nose. Colds generally do not result in serious health problems, such as pneumonia, bacterial infections, or hospitalizations. The flu can have very serious complications. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends a flu vaccine every year to help prevent the flu. Protect yourself and get your flu shot today at the Oneida County Health Department (OCHD) in Rhinelander."
Hours of operation for flu shots are: Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Appointments are not necessary for flu shots at the health department. Community clinics are also being held for individuals who cannot make it during normal business hours. For more information, call 715-369-6111.
