The hard practice definitely paid off as RSC had five high-point winners at the meet
"Our team had great swims, multiple time drops, and we walked away with five age group high point awards," RSC head coach Megan Cihla said. "It really captures the depth and versatility our team has this year. It was great to see most of these high point awards going to various boys on our team. In the past we've always had fewer male swimmers but this year one of our team strengths is the large quantity and quality of male swimmers."
The high-point winners were Dean Gillingham, 8, Charlie Antonuk, 9, Vivian Lamers, 10, Zacha King, 12, and Jack Antonuk, 14.
"Dean had a great 25 breaststroke, dropping an impressive 18 seconds, which is hard to do in a 25," Cihla noted. "Charlie's butterfly was strong and powerful, the best I've seen it. Vivian had a beautiful 25 backstroke, really excelling at the fundamentals such as her start and under-waters. Zacha had an incredible 100 IM. He has been working really hard on his strokes and it all came together and looked effortless. Jack's versatility and power through the water really sets him apart from most of his competitors."
The RSC travels to Chippewa Falls YMCA today for an invitational.
