Downtown Rhinelander will be a little brighter this holiday season thanks to a grant from the Rhinelander Community Foundation (RCF). The $13,000 grant will be used for the lighted street pole wraps that have been added this year, according to an RCF press release.

"The downtown lighting is an ongoing project for Downtown Rhinelander Inc.," the release states. "The Design Committee has been working on replacing holiday lighting since planning for the new streetscape began. In 2017 Snowflakes were purchased and installed in partnership with the City of Rhinelander. They plan to add an additional component to the display as fundraising allows."

The Rhinelander Community Foundation awards grants for projects and programs that impact the Rhinelander area in a positive way. The group will be announcing the implementation of a competitive grant and review process, set to begin in 2019, the release notes.
