The postseason accolades continue to roll in for Rhinelander High School senior Owen White.

The 6-foot-6 center received honorable mention All-State honors from the Associated Press on Monday.

The AP's All-State team featured 66 players across all five divisions of WIAA boys' basketball - with five players each on the first, second, third and fourth teams and 44 honorable mention selections - which were determined by voting of statewide sports reporters.

"I think it's well deserved," Rhinelander coach Derek Lemmens said. "He's a very talented player who accomplished a lot in his four years of high school. He had an outstanding year this year filling up the stat book in every category."

White averaged a double-double for the Hodags this season with 20.7 points and 10.2 rebounds per game as he led the Hodags to a 20-2 regular season, an undefeated Great Northern Conference mark and a ranking as high as No. 8 in the AP's Division 2 poll. He also led the Hodags in assists, steals and blocks per game.

"He just did everything, and those are the types of players who should be recognized for All-State," Lemmens said.

Last week White received honorable mention All-State honors in Division 2 from the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association. Lemmens was on the eight-coach panel that voted for the D2 All-State team. Lemmens said he was permitted to vote for White for the WBCA's All-State team.

"This might be the best class to ever go through Division 2," Lemmens said. "You look at the seniors and the underclassmen, Division 2 is just stacked. The fact he was considered in that is a tribute to the type of player he is."

White was the Great Northern Conference's player of the year for the second time in his career, and was a unanimous first-team all-GNC choice.

Kaukauna's Jordan McCabe, who helped lead the Galloping Ghosts to the Division 2 state title, was voted the AP's player of the year. Brad Weber, first-year head coach at Oshkosh North, was the AP coach of the year after leading the Spartans to the Division 1 championship.

McCabe, Whitnall's Tyler Herro and Oshkosh North's Tyrese Haliburton were unanimous first-team selections. Stevens Point's Drew Blair and JC Butler of The Prairie School in Racine rounded out the first-team.

White was the only Great Northern Conference player recognized by the AP. In addition to Blair, the Wisconsin Valley Conference had one other All-State selection as Marshfield's Seth Anderson received honorable mention.

White has committed to play NCAA Division II men's basketball at Michigan Tech University.
