The concert, to begin at 1:30 p.m., will feature well-known religious and secular music, according to a press release announcing the performance.
"In 2012, the choir traveled to Cincinnati, Ohio, to compete along with 360 choirs from around the world," the release states. "They were awarded the silver medal in the Children's Choir category and a bronze medal in the Barbershop category where they competed against well-established adult choirs. In 2013, the Choir traveled to Germany, Austria and Italy performing in Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Windsbach and Suhl, Germany; St. Florian and Graz, Austria, Rome and Venice, Italy and many other European cities. Following their European tour, the North Star Boys' Choir has toured their home state of Minnesota, Wisconsin and many states out West. Last summer 2017, they performed aboard a large old-fashioned paddlewheel riverboat for audiences in cities all along the Mississippi River."
According to event coordinator Jim Coursolle, "The North Star Boys' Choir will be a great way to begin Holy Week leading up to Easter. At their young age, these kids are wonderful performers and will most certainly bring joy to all those who attend the concert. Come early to get a good seat as we expect a very good crowd. You will love the way these kids can sing!"
Following the Holy Family Woodruff concert on March 25, everyone is invited to a free "Meet the Choir" reception in the church dining area courtesy of the Secular Franciscans and parishioners of Holy Family Catholic Church.
North Star Boys' Choir music CDs and other North Star memorabilia will be available following the Palm Sunday performance.
