The team competed in Pom and Hip Hop in the High School Division against other Division 1 and Division 2 teams. Hip Hop, the team's strongest routine, garnered the Hodag dancers a tie for fourth place with a team from Edina, Minn., out of seven total teams. The top three teams came from Oklahoma, Iowa, and North Dakota.
The dancers took fifth place of out six teams in Pom and also received the Academic Excellence Award for having a cumulative team GPA higher than 3.0.
The team is coached by Tricia Winter and Kirsten Lotz.
"The team is very appreciative of the support of the community which enabled them to compete in this event," the coaches stated in a press release. "Special thanks to the school administration, especially Brian Paulson, Heather Lundt and Carol Purcell for all of their help over the season."
