Ava Krouze, representing the YMCA of the Northwoods' youth archery program, competed in a tournament Saturday, March 3 in Medford.

Krause shot a 253, which was 16 points higher than her previous tournament best, to finish seventh out of 20 competitors in her age group and 28th out of 59 middle school girls' archers overall.

The Y's next archery competition will take place in Rice Lake March 17.
