The fifth-grade students at Central Intermediate School participated in a Living History Museum Wednesday. Students researched influential individuals and displayed the results of their research in written form and by posing as a wax figure of their chosen person. The "exhibits" were on display in the gym for other students and their parents to view. Part of each student's grade was determined by how well they could remain motionless and silent throughout the event. The goal was for the students to discover how they are connected to historical people, places and events and to explore the ways in which people have shaped the United States and/or changed the world. Above, Andrew Eckrich strikes a familiar pose associated with John W. Heisman, the namesake of the Heisman Trophy awarded annually to the top college football player in the country. Heisman is buried in Rhinelander.
