Park City CEO named chair of Wisconsin Credit Union League
The League represents 132 financial institutions that are cooperatively owned by their 3 million members in Wisconsin, according to a press release announcing the honor.
"Val has served on the League Board since April of 2015 and previously served as the League's Vice- Chair and as Chair of its Government Affairs Committee," the release states. "This year she also joined the Board of the Wisconsin Credit Union Foundation and began her second stint on the League Services Corp. Board of Directors. Because credit unions have no stockholders - just local citizens elected to credit union boards to look out for the best interests of the members - they put people before profits and fulfill a mission of improving the financial position of the 3 million members who use them to borrow and save. Over the past decade, Wisconsin credit unions have saved their members more than $2 billion in the form of lower rates on loans, higher rates on savings and lower and fewer fees for financial services."
