Laser Pros scored in each of the first five innings and cruised to the win.
After the team's exchanged runs in the first inning, Sam Schneider - called up from Rhinelander's Prep League team for the evening - doubled in the second inning to give Laser Pros the lead for good at 2-1. He would come around on Tim Fox's single. From there Laser Pros added two in the third, three in the fourth and two in the fifth.
Fox started, pitched four innings and earned the win for Laser Pros, allowing two runs on three hits with five strikeouts. Isaac Bixby was perfect over the final three innings to earn the save. He retired six of the nine batters he faced via the strikeout.
Cole Lehman led the way with a 2-for-3 day at the plate for Laser Pros. Fox, Bixby, Payton Johnson, Joe Schneider and Sam Schneider each had one hit.
The game was the last of the Senior League quarterfinal games to be played, postponed one day because of soggy field conditions on Thursday in Three Lakes.
Laser Pros will now take on second-seeded Eagle River in a semifinal game that's been moved back to Tuesday at Stafford Field. The game was originally scheduled for Tuesday, but moved to Monday when the field became available after the Rhinelander-Clintonville American Legion baseball game was rescheduled. However, late Friday, the game was moved back to Tuesday due to a scheduling conflict on Eagle River's side.
Rhinelander Green traveled to Merrill Gray Monday in the other Senior League semifinal while, in the Prep League, Rhinelander took on Eagle River Blue. The championship games are scheduled for Wednesday in Rhinelander.
