The next installment of the Concert on the Riverwalk series will take place at 7 p.m. July 11 at the bandshell next to Trig's in downtown Rhinelander.

As always, attendance is free and popcorn will be served; some seating is available, but listeners are urged to bring lawn chairs or blankets, organizers said in a press release.

Rhinelander Area Community Band director Jim Pekol has been asked to break out holiday music this summer. He agreed, but with a catch: "This will be music that isn't really Christmas music, but is associated with Christmas nevertheless."

Selections will include "Sleigh Ride," "March of the Toys," "Baby, It's Cold Outside" and "Jungle Bell Rhapsody," and other pieces.

In case of bad weather, the concert will move to the Oneida Senior Center across the parking lot. A goodwill offering will be collected to help offset the cost of the performance. For more information, call Jan at 715-362-7157.

The Rhinelander Area Community Band also has a concert scheduled in Three Lakes Tuesday, July 10. The performance, which is sponsored by the Three Lakes Historical Society, will be held at the gazebo in Cy Williams Park.

Attendees are invited to pack a picnic and a blanket or chair; popcorn, soda, water and cider will be for sale. All proceeds will benefit the Three Lakes Historical Society and Museum.

The rain location is the Three Lakes High School auditorium. For more information, call 715-546-2295 or visit www.facebook.com/ThreeLakesHistory.

The Rhinelander Area Community Band is a non-audition community band that rehearses in Rhinelander.

Band membership reaches far beyond Rhinelander and includes instrumentalists from communities across the Northwoods, including Tomahawk, Minocqua, Eagle River, Crandon and Three Lakes. Members include part-time and seasonal "snowbirds" and full-time residents ranging in age from high school to 93, and all ranges of abilities, the release states.

The one thing all members have in common is a love for playing music in a group and sharing that music with appreciative audiences.
