Rhinelander middle schoolers podium at Hinder Binder ski race
The Hodags swept the podium in the girls' middle school 4-kilometer freestyle race. Anna Wood won the race with a time of 16 minutes, 12.1 seconds, three seconds ahead of teammate Liana Teter, who finished second. Megan Lester completed the podium sweep, finishing third with a time of 18.24.
On the boys' side, Will Rutkowski reached the medal stand, finishing third with a time of 15 minutes, 18 seconds. He finished just ahead of teammate Kyle Morien, who placed fourth (15:25.1).
The Hodag middle school team had 17 skiers take part in the competition, which took place at Camp Forest Springs. Macy Lester (seventh), Nora Rutkowski (ninth), McKenna Nash (10th), Brynn Teter (11th), Olivia Gillen (12th), Gracie Berger (13th) and Emma Mankus (15th) rounded out the girls' squad.
Sam Rutkowski (sixth), Jett Biolo (eighth), Ryan Morien (10th), Cole Worrall (11th) and Travis White (14th) also competed for the Hodag boys.
