Gerad Donahue has joined the rehabilitation department at Ascenscion St. Mary's YMCA Clinic in Rhinelander as a physical therapist while Cara Rojas is now a member of the rehab department at Ascension Crandon Clinic and Sacred Heart Saint Mary's, according to a pair of Ascension press releases issued this week.
"Gerad has a strong interest in sports medicine" said Ann Van Buren of Ascension. "We are thrilled Gerad has a clinical background in orthopedics, strength and conditioning, and is a certified exercise physiologist, it complements our current offerings and adds a new dimension to therapy services in Rhinelander."
Donahue brings two years of experience in health care as a traveler where he specialized in sports medicine and general physical therapy.
He graduated from Mayo School of Health Sciences with a doctoral degree in physical therapy and recently passed the orthopedic specialist certification examination.
"I empower patients and provide he tools for them to manage their musculoskeletal pathologies," Donahue said.
Rojas brings four years of experience in health care while being a traveler on the West Coast, where she specialized in neurological conditions such as stroke, the release states.
"Cara enjoys working with both inpatients and outpatients," said Van Buren. "We are thrilled that Cara is here and complements our current offerings and adds a new dimension to therapy services in Crandon and Rhinelander."
Rojas graduated from University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee with a doctoral degree in physical therapy.
"I encourage all my patients to have regular activity such as walking to improve overall well-being," Rojas said.
Ascension Rehabilitation Services focuses on person centered care which allows everyone the opportunity to achieve optimal function, the release states. Patient care hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
