Middle schoolers compete in Hodag Nordic Challenge

Two of those skiers received medals for placing inside the top five overall in their respective age groups.
Ryan Morien finished third in the overall pursuit in the boys' fifth- and sixth-grade division, completing the two races with a combined time of 34 minutes, 30 seconds. Morien was third in class in Saturday's 3.3-kilometer skate race (15:33) and had the fourth-fastest time in Sunday's classic race (18:37).
On the girls' side, Macy Lester was third overall in the fifth- and sixth-grade division (33:59). She placed fourth in the Saturday's skate race and fifth in Sunday's classic.
Jett Biolo and Anna Wood led the Hodags in the seventh- and eighth-grade divisions. Biolo was 10th overall on the boys' side after posting the 11th-fastest time in both the skate and classic races. Wood was eighth on the girls' side after finishing 10th in skate and seventh in freestyle.
