The family of the late Dave Crabb presented a check to the RIA, which the Wisconsin Public Service Foundation matched, for a total donation of $2,000. The money will go toward improving the sound system at the RIA.
"In the early to mid 2000s, it was hard to find a time where you wouldn't find Dave Crabb lending a hand around the Rhinelander Ice Arena," the RIA said in a statement. "He was a volunteer electrician and always willing to help make sure projects got done around the rink. But Dave's passion was in the scorer's booth, where he enjoyed operating the score clock and being a master DJ, picking the right tunes for the hockey games to entertain the fans and players."
Crabb passed away in early 2017 following a battle with cancer. His widow, Deb, and his children, Nate and Ashli - both former Rhinelander hockey players - were on hand to present RIA manager Brett Aylesworth with the donation.
