Some members of the Rhinelander High School boys' hockey team dropped their hockey gloves for oven mitts Thursday, Dec. 28 as they prepared dinner for the residents of the Frederick Place homeless shelter.

Pictured from left to right are the chefs for the night - Freddy Wisner, Abe Laggis, Cal Laggis, Max Spaulding, Hunter Hicks and Cole Spaulding. According to coach M.J. Laggis, the players cooked for 12 residents last Thursday.

"We are really trying to get our kids to see the value of community and giving their time for people that need it," Laggis said. "We have some great parents in our program and in turn they have great kids and we want them to see the value in helping the community they live in. I am really proud of all of our players."
