There were many achievements at this meet, with club records broken, new ones made and some state qualifying times met.
Samson Shinners, 10, received the first place high points trophy for the 9-10 age group. He posted state-qualifying times in the 50-yard butterfly (36.17 seconds) and the 100 freestyle (1:10.80), and broke the club record for his age group in the 500 freestyle (6:46.71).
Brock Arrowood, 10, took home the third place high points trophy in the 9-10 age group and also set the record for RSC in the 9-10 age bracket in the 200 backstroke (3:10.92).
Abi Winnicki, 11, posted a state-qualifying time and broke the club record in the 200 butterfly (2:36.86). She also set new club records in the 100 butterfly (1:06.86) and the 1,650 free (20:42.36).
Makenna Winnicki, 15, qualified for state in the 1,650 free witha coul-record time of 18:27.85. She also broke the current club record in 200 butterfly (2:23.73).
David King, 15, broke a club record and made a state qualifying in the 200 butterfly (2:05.49) and Zachariah King, 11, set the RSC record for the 11-12 age group in the 1,650 free (24:31.11).
"Coming together and competing with NLAC is always a fun time," RSC coach Megan Cihla said. "Not only do I get to see great swims, I see the kids having fun, being on relays with and socializing with other swimmers from teams we compete against during our regular club season. All 18 athletes had wonderful swims and had been training hard for this meet."
Brock Arrowood, Samson Shinners and Abi Winnicki will compete this weekend at the 12 and under state swim meet held in Milwaukee.
