Andrew Birk Phipps

Andrew Birk Phipps passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, Feb. 11, 2018. He was born Nov. 30, 1995, and lived his life in Woodbury, Minn., but spent most of his time in the surrounding countryside of Minnesota and Wisconsin. He was a 2014 graduate of East Ridge High School. At the time of his passing, he was pursuing a career in heavy equipment operation and directional drilling.

During his time on this earth, Andrew pursued his passions while working in dairy farming and agriculture. In addition to this, for his entire life he had a great love of horses and was fortunate to spend many hours managing a horse stable and caring for them. If you looked to either the left or right as you rode through Cottage Grove or Afton, you could see him combining for a local farmer. Andrew always had a great love for the outdoors and was an avid archer, fisherman and hunter.

Andrew will be dearly missed by his mother and father, Ann and Chuck; his brothers, Sam and Graham; his grandparents, Dick and Mary Iglar; and his many aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous others. He was preceded in death by his grandpa, Howard.

A memorial service will be held to celebrate Andrew's life at Guardian Angel's Catholic Church, 8260 4th St. N. Oakdale, Minn., at 9 a.m. on Friday, March 16, 2018. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial in Andrew's honor to the Minnesota Hooved Animal Rescue Foundation in Zimmerman, MN (mnhoovedanimalrescue.org), an organization to which he had a personal connection.
