Girl Scout Troop 7358 completed a bird inventory at the Newbold Outdoor Recreation Area (NORA) this past summer. The Troop, under the leadership of Michelle McGreal and Laura Joswick, observed 10 different species of birds present during their visits to NORA, according to a press release. The bird sign developed by the Girl Scouts will be on display at the kiosk at the NORA this summer. The Girl Scouts pictured left to right are Makenna, Lizzie, Makayla, Emma and kneeling Aubree. The Girl Scout Troop volunteered to do the birding project. The Newbold Outdoor Recreation committee appreciates their important work on bird survey, the release states. Contact Kim Gauthier, Newbold Town Clerk, at 715-362-1092, for more opportunities to volunteer at the NORA.
