New Northwoods business provides help to elderly individuals
Call Your Other Daughter, LLC concierge service now available
After retiring in 2015 and moving to the Northwoods, she realized there is a significant need for a personal assistance service which would offer support to those who needed an individual to handle non-medical tasks.
So, with that, Call Your Other Daughter, LLC was born.
In existence since January, Meidam's business venture sees her offering her time to elderly individuals, busy parents and anyone in need of assistance with their business or personal errands.
For Meidam, providing non-medical personal assistance to seniors is one of the reasons why she chose to launch her first business.
"Remaining independent is so important for many people, and when I can build a relationship with a client and they can rely on me for their needs to be met, then we have a win-win situation," she said. "One of my clients just likes me to sit down and talk - and then we sit down and talk."
In the days since the launch of the business, much of the work Meidam has done so far has been for elderly people. As Meidam describes it, she organizes their cupboards, shops for groceries, delivers meals, and through this interaction her clients are made to feel Meidam will assist them to meet their needs.
"With what I am doing, it's like being that other daughter who can help them remain independent," Meidam said. "My clients are grateful for the independence that my services provide and that is the key for success in this new venture."
