Club members and volunteers served turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, sweet yams, cranberry sauce, bread, and apple and pumpkin pies to 200 people at the gym and made 180 deliveries to those who couldn't make it to the location.
"I think for people that are far away from families or are just alone, it's a little piece of getting together ... you don't have to spend Christmas alone," said Mili Rappley, public relations coordinator for the Rhinelander Lions Club.
Rappley helped serve meals and witnessed plenty of holiday camaraderie throughout the day.
"I saw a lot of people were going 'I don't have no family here and I just came here to gather with some people and talk about whatever,'" she said.
More than 30 people volunteered to help serve this year, she noted.
"I thank all the volunteers for taking their time to make this event this year more successful and hopefully that there's many, many years to come," she added, noting that the club would like to thank all those who contributed to the meal.
