Wisconsin Singers, the University of Wisconsin-Madison's premier entertainment group, will bring their show "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now" to Minocqua Jan. 25.

The performance, scheduled for 7 p.m., is part of the Lakeland Performing Arts Association's 2018-2019 Concert Series.

The show will be held at the Lakeland Union High School Theatre, 9753 State Hwy 70 West, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m.

"Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now" is a 90-minute revue of top hits of American pop music from the past five decades, according to an LPAA press release. "Audiences will enjoy award winners from the Oscars and Tony's, as well as some much-loved 'One Hit Wonders.' A tribute to Radio and Video Stars includes music by Frank Sinatra and Elton John. If you're a movie or musical theater fan, you'll be entertained by songs from 'The Greatest Showman,' 'Dear Evan Hansen,' 'Hamilton,' 'Pitch Perfect 3,' and 'La La Land.' The renowned Wisconsin Singers Band will have you dancing in your seats to 'funky' music from Superstition to hits from the Grammys. Wisconsin Singers has a Fifth Quarter too, where Badger fans can sing along to 'Varsity,' dance to 'Tequila' and jam to 'Jump Around.' The Wisconsin Singers Band will rock the house with a foot-tapping swing medley and a tribute to the Beatles."

Featuring an opening performance by a guest show choir, this Broadway-caliber show promises to entertain everyone from age 5 to 95 in its spectacular 51st season show, the release states.

As a bonus, Wisconsin Singers will conduct a clinic for LUHS and other area students on the afternoon of the concert. This clinic is sponsored by a special student education grant from the St. Matthias Thrift Shop, and is eagerly anticipated by the students, the release notes.

Also, prior to the concert, attendees can enjoy live music in the lobby performed by an LUHS student musical ensemble.

For further information on the concert, contact Kay Suffron (715) 686-2668 or visit www.lakelandperformingarts.org. Specially priced ticket packages for the LPAA 2018-2019 season will be available at the performance. Non-package tickets are $20 per concert for adults, $5 for students, and can also be purchased at the door.
