While we had a fantastic attendance of over 80 people, we're sure there are plenty of you out there who are still wondering "What is Project North?" We're glad you asked. Project North is a three-day music, art and environmental festival taking place in Downtown Rhinelander on the last weekend in September 2019. The festival will combine an eclectic array of concerts, thought-provoking art installations and galleries, and a commitment to environmental sustainability through education and action.
To further expand the festival's commitment towards advancing the arts and culture in the Northwoods of Wisconsin, Project North will be partnering with School of the Arts to provide courses, workshops and lectures in the fields of writing, visual arts, music and more. Attendees will have the chance to spend their mornings advancing their own creativity and spend their evenings appreciating the talents of others.
Beyond music, art and ecological awareness, Project North will feature events such as yoga and dance classes, programming for children and curated adventures through the woods and waters of the area.
Oh, and did we mention food? Project North will not only put some of the area's top restaurants and breweries on display, but attract some of the state's most unique offerings to Rhinelander. If you consider yourself to be a flavor connoisseur, Project North will be the place for you.
Breaking down the walls between performer and audience, Project North will be an immersive event that will allow one to deepen their connection to self-expression and help show someone how they can direct the City of Rhinelander into the future. All this will be fostered by a true community of Rhinelander non-profits, businesses, artists, activists, educators and visionaries.
This will not be your typical music festival.
The Project North Launch Party was the ideal was to kick off the efforts and get more people involved! While we've already got a great committee of volunteers together, we can always use more. If you're interested in learning how you can get involved, perform or present, head to projectnorth.
org and fill out our submission form.
A special thanks goes out to the staff at Nicolet College, Holiday Acres, Beachcomber's, CT's Deli, Rhinelander Taproom, Rhinelander Brewery and all the volunteers who helped make the Project North Launch Party a huge success.
Join the Project and let's keep the momentum going!
