Rhinelander Swim club hosts Freezin' Season Invite
The club welcomed seven teams to the pool and had a record number of RSC swimmers attend.
"I asked a lot from all of the swimmers this meet," coach Megan Chila said. "Everyone had some great swims, even if they were out of their comfort zone. It was nice to see so many of our athletes laughing and smiling behind the blocks before they swam. Atoli Hildebrand and Anna Crossman swam their hearts out, even when asked to swim new strokes. I never saw them with anything but a smile on their faces. Eva Heck really stepped it up and swam the best I've seen her swim. The most challenging combination of events was swum by both Ella Cordy and Phoebe Moran. They both had the 500 free and 1000 free. Not once did they question me, instead they gladly took on the challenge. They swam each race with determination and even confided after that it wasn't that bad! This 2018-19 RSC crew continue to amaze me and exceed all expectations!"

Chippewa meet
Prior to the holiday break, RSC had 18 swimmers attend the Chippewa Valley YMCA meet held Nov. 17.
Vivian Lamers posted state-qualifying times in the 50 freestyle, the 50 butterfly and the 50 breaststroke.
She was one of several Hodag swimmers to post at least one top-three finish in the meet.
Others were Ella Cordy, Paul Denis, Shawn Denis, Emma Houg, Sadie Houghton, Caleb Luce, Phoebe Moran and Samson Shinners.
Additionally, Rhinelander took first place in the girls' 10 and under 200 freestyle relay (Houg, Sadie Bocek, Ella Miljevich, Lamers), the boys' 12 and under 200 freestyle relay (Shinners, Luce, Matthew Wood and Shawn Denis), and the girls' 14 and under 200 freestyle relay (Moran, Cordy, Casleton and Johnson).
The swim club is in Tomahawk today for a meet.
